Our long-time member and resident expert on all things Irish, John Nelligan, will be sharing his exploits from abroad with us during this month of St. Patrick.  With many excursions under his belt, John has unearthed much family history on his genealogical research trips, a good number of which placed him in Ireland.  He will tell us about the people and places that he has come to know from his many travels, not only the ancestors from the distant past that he discovered in documents, but also those people that he has encountered along the way in the here-and-now in his quest to discover more about his family's past.  This is bound to be not only an insightful presentation, but knowing John, an entertaining romp as well.

So please join us, on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, in the Bangor Public Library Lecture Hall, starting at 6:00 for an Irish Journey of Discovery.  Oh, and you are invited to come early, as always, beginning at 5:30 for coffee and conversation.

Join us on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lecture Hall, Bangor Public Library for a GENEALOGY POT LUCK

You don't need to bring food. Our ever-faithful and culinary-talented Hospitality Director, Mary Gibouleau, will do that beginning at 5:00 P.M. when we have coffee and conversation..

All you have to bring is some genealogy to share with other members of our society. Please come and discuss your genealogical experiences, brick walls, and triumphs, too.  Tell us what cool ancestors that you are related to. How your share your genealogy is up to you.  Your experiences and insights can be an important source of comfort and inspiration for your fellow genealogists. Who knows, perhaps your struggles and/or successes will enable another member to break through a wretched brick well.

We hope to see you there!
